I’m going on a Royal Caribbean cruise on Freedom of the Seas this weekend. We have a total of $690 of onboard ship credit but i cant figure out what all you can spend it on. I know we can use it in the gift shops and on drinks and excursions but is there anything else that we can spend it on?
Excursions and Gratuities are prepaid so I can’t use it for that. Can you use any of it in the Casino?
You have about covered all the bases except for having a massage or spa treatment.
$690 isn’t a lot if you go on a couple of excursions, have a couple of drinks each night, your gratuities (if you haven’t prepaid them) and buy some photographs. Add on a spa treatment and I would think you would have wiped it out.

When you board the ship they will set up an on board cruise account and give you and all of the passengers in your cabin a cruise card that serves as your cabin key, pass to get off and on the ship and charge card for any thing you buy on ship. When they set up the tabs for your cabin you can have each person on a separate account OR put everyone on one account. So if there are two of you you will both be drawing down that tab. If there are 3 or 4 people you can have them all draw down on it. That will use it up faster.
Now, Since your gratuities and tours are prepaid, if you want to be sure that you get all of that credit, just go to the casino and give them your card at the casino cage and ask for a couple hundred to play the slots or tables with. Get it in cash or if they give you chips, go back later and cash them in. Then go back later and get some more cash on your account. That way you can use the credit for anything you want to on or off the ship.
