I’m going on a cruise next month on the Island Princess, and I’m super curious about what the Dating Game is. It’s one of the things they list that they have for teens to do at the Youth Center. I’m 14, btw. Thanks.
Hey, I just went on the Diamond Princess a few weeks ago. I’m sixteen and witnessed this.
It’s…not that exciting. It’s a girl is going to go behind a curtain and there are three or four boys and a person asks them questions and the girl just picks the boy who has the best answers in her taste. So yeah. It’s just really funny, not meant to be taken seriously.
Go there though. You’re going to have a freaking blast. The other activities and the people you meet are incredible.
My family and I are going on a cruise to Alaska very soon and we are a family of four. Our room accommodates a third and/or fourth person, but we are wondering how exactly this works and what it looks like. Has anyone experienced this before?
The 3rd and 4th beds are fold down or drop down bunk beds. The are only dropped at night and put away in the morning by the cabin steward.
The usual configuration in the cabin when the 3rd and 4th bed are being used is the two normal beds below are singles with the bunks above.
The link shows a picture of a 4 bed cabin with the bunks down, that’s what the cabin looks like at night. The 2 bed picture is what the cabin will be like during the day.
it’s not a picture an interior stateroom of Sapphire Princess but it gives you an idea of the setup.
My husband and I are considering a cruise for summer 2009. We’ve found very similar cruises on both lines but wanted an overall feel for the better cruise line.
Do not be afraid. Both cruise lines are excellent. You will enjoy either cruise you take.
My personal experience is that R.C. ships are most extravagant and have more things for kids to do like rock climbing, ice skating, boxing, etc. Plus they have more shops. Carnival ships have better food, and better entertainment. Remember, the extras on R.C. take away from the deck and other public spaces that are used differently on Carnival.
You will not go wrong on either cruise line.
My family and I are planing to go on a Royal Caribbean cruise for the first time. We have gone on Carnival cruises many times before. How is Royal Caribbean compared to Carnival? I enjoyed tea time thoroughly on Carnival, do they have it on Royal Caribbean?
1st answer is right…but they also have either 1-2 dinner nights its were the whole family comes to the dining room and theres a menu and everything….you have to dress appropriatly (you know like a sun dress, or a nice skirt of some sort) its really nice there, they have a band and its quiet and its just a time to interacte with your family…i love it there.
also the enviorment is amazing.
please answer mine:

Okay, so I don’t even know if my dad is just bluffing to make me find some way to spend my time, but, worth a shot.
I SOOOO badly want to go on a cruise with my family, but no one else really does. Well, I guess they do, but they’re so picky. While I’d go on a cruise, even if it meant I had to sleep on the floor, well, my dad isn’t really interested, and he’d probably only agree to go if it was dirt cheap, yet longer than a week long, and if we made lots of stops. My mom wants to sail in the Mediterranean… and my sister, well she’d probably agree with anything but just complain about every little thing the whole time we’re there. Now… I really like royal caribbean cruises, I don’t know why, they just seem really nice. And my dad keeps getting all these brochures for cruises in the mail and every time he gets them he just likes to rub them in my face and remind me we’re never EVER going on a cruise… But I actually found a really good deal, a 12 day Mediterranean cruise on the Mariner of the Seas starting at 1549 dollars for an inside stateroom. My dad told me to do a bit of research and we’d see. So I was looking up Mariner of the Seas on the Royal Caribbean website and found an even better cruise, a 13 night cruise that goes to the Mediterranean and the Holy Land… My dad loves the Holy Land and he always talks about how badly he wants to take us there sometime… He liked the idea but said he still wasn’t sure about the price and all… which was a bit more expensive than the one in the brochure… And also, each room on the Mariner of the Seas, even the largest suites, only have enough beds for two people, and we’re a family of four. They have the Junior suites, but my older sister can be quite menacing to me at times… and the idea of sharing a room with her, with a balcony, with my parents nowhere in sight, really, REALLY scares me… Anyways, I just found the family staterooms, that can sleep eight people… I’m not sure how much they cost but I bet they are on the pricier side… So on the Mariner of the Seas, which I think is one of their less expensive ships, what’s a room that can sleep four people… and also if there is none of the Mariner, what’s another one though, that also is going in the Mediterranean? Cause I’ve found some with rooms for four, but they’re not sailing in the Mediterranean, and going there is probably the only way my parents would agree to go at all…
Okay so there’s the Grand Suites I just found, and they said they have two twin beds that you can convert into a queen size, and also said most grand suites can fit four people… but if there’s only one queen bed, how is that possible? Normally when we go on holidays we have two queen beds in our room…
I do not know your question but I will answer this one.
Okay so there’s the Grand Suites I just found, and they said they have two twin beds that you can convert into a queen size, and also said most grand suites can fit four people… but if there’s only one queen bed, how is that possible?
Almost anything on a cruise ship called a suite can sleep 4, two twin beds sleep two either as singles or a queen, and a sofa bed usually sleeps 2.
In addition, some rooms that are not suites can sleep 4 too the same way.
I just looked up the mariner
some interior rooms sleep 4
Interior Stateroom

Do you pay your tips when you are booking or have them added automatically to your seapass when you’re on the cruise? Once you’ve paid the automatic tips do you need to tip during the cruise at all? (apart from room service)
At the end I personally gave my room attendant and waiter there tips. They don’t allow you to pay the gratuities when booking, but at the end of the cruise you have the option to either have them charged to your account or to put money in envelopes and give to them directly. No you don’t need to tip during the cruise.
