My Australian relative is joining a Princess offhore cruise to St. Ptersburg, does he need a Russian visa?

Posted by admin on June 29th, 2010 and filed under princess cruise | 2 Comments »

I was told that if you are a US citizen or Canadian, you do not need any visa casue you are under the umberlla of Princess cruise line, other than that you need to check with your counsulate. He did and did not get any clear answer, does anyone know? Or is there any Australian friend took the princess cruise and its St. Pertersburg excursion?

Yes he does.
Everybody does, EXCEPT when the passengers go on the shore excursions, in that case, Princess takes care of it.

I think only Serbians do not need a visa for Russia.
I stoped there often with ships and we didn’t need one, if we had a Seaman’s book, which is sort of an ID for crew members. Even the crewmembers who did not have one could not leave the ship.
For the excursions it’s ok, you don’t need one.
enjoy.

In the TV ad for Royal Caribbean cruises, what goup is singing the song in the background?

Posted by admin on June 29th, 2010 and filed under caribbean cruises | 1 Comment »

It sounds like the Stones and it sounds as near as I can tell like they are saying "love for life".
Wow I used to listen to Iggy all the time in the 70’s.

Now to go grab the song.

The song is "Lust for Life" by Iggy Pop (1977)

What type of phone do you have to have for it to work on Royal Caribbean Cruises?

Posted by admin on June 29th, 2010 and filed under caribbean cruises | 9 Comments »

What type? What kind? I have verizon. Anything will help. Thanks
I am going to the Bahamas. Now I email Royal caribbean cruises and they said any cell phone would work on there ship they have a cell tower on the ship. I just didnt know if it had to be CDMA or something like that.
I have to talk back home to my family. We will be going for our honeymoon.

Royal Caribbean has shipboard cellular coverage that supports all US cellular carriers, including Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, and AT&T.

While I understand that you need to keep in touch with your family, be warned roaming onboard the ship is EXTREMELY expensive. You should check with your carrier for exact rates and then think about just how much you need to be in contact with them…

If you can go a day or two without speaking with them and only call them when you are in port it may actually be cheaper for you to purchase international calling cards to use when you are in port on your cruise. The per minute rates on the calling cards are often MUCH cheaper than the international roaming rates you will be charged if you use your cell phone.

Are Royal Caribbean Cruises all-inclusive? What do i have to pay for once on board?

Posted by admin on June 29th, 2010 and filed under royal caribbean cruises | 9 Comments »

I am not sure if "all inclusive" is the word i mean to use….

What will i have to pay for once i am on board?

You will have to pay for sodas and all alcoholic drinks. Also if you want to eat in the specialty restaurants or attend certain on board events ie. martini or wine tastings, you have to pay a fee. Spa services and certain classes like yoga are extra also. And of course you pay for your own excursions and onboard shopping.
